U.S. Breeding Genetically Modified Soybeans Against Asian Rust

A team composed of Monsanto, the University of Illinois, and the Ministry of Agriculture Research Center is currently working hard to develop new genetically engineered soybean varieties in hopes of breeding soybeans that are resistant to Asian rust. The research organization stated that in the genes of soybeans, three genes that could resist the invasion of rust were found as early as 25 years ago, but they are powerless to fight Asian rust in Brazil in recent years. Scientists from last year The study of the sequence of these three genes began in the winter and it is estimated that there will be significant progress in the next few weeks in order to find the secret of soybean genes that are resistant to Asian rust.
