White rice often eats diabetes

A U.S. study said that people who eat white rice have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The study also supports people's long-standing recognition that brown rice is healthier than white rice.

Scientists at the Harvard School of Public Health have found that people who eat at least five white rice a week have a 17% higher risk of developing diabetes than those who eat up to one meal per month.

The study analyzed data from 199,000 adults surveyed over the past 22 years and found that people who eat at least two brown rice a week have a higher chance of developing type 2 diabetes than those who eat at least 1 meal per month. To be lower by 11%. Sun Qi, the first author of the study, said: "We believe that replacing rice and other polished rice with grains including brown rice will help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes."

Researchers say that replacing 1/3 white rice with brown rice per day in the daily diet will reduce the chance of developing type 2 diabetes by 16%. They also found that replacing white rice with other whole-grain foods, such as barley and wheat, can reduce people’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 36%.
