Catfish secondary cage culture technology

First, cage structure and settings

1. Primary cage (breeding box). This is constructed without netting, with a mesh size of 0.5 to 1.0 cm. The dimensions are 10 meters by 1.3 meters or 1.5 meters, and there are three such cages in total.

2. Secondary cage (fish box). These have a larger mesh size of 1.5 to 2 cm. There are three small cages with dimensions of 2 meters by 2 meters and 1.8 meters, while the large standard cages measure 4 meters by 7 meters and 1.8 meters.

3. Cage setup. A pond of approximately 80 acres with a water depth of over 2 meters near the Qingtong River is selected. The area is set up as a floating cage system using bamboo frames as floats, with the top of the cage positioned 20 to 30 cm above the water surface. The cages are installed and fixed securely according to standard procedures.

Second, key technical points

1. Fish stocking. In mid-May, the first batch of fish fry is stocked at a rate of 500,000 to 800,000 per acre. When they reach a length of 1.5 to 2 cm, they are purchased on June 6th and transferred to the cages when they are about 3 to 4 cm long. The stocking density is 100 fish per square meter. After intensive rearing until they reach 10 cm in length, they are moved to secondary cages. The stocking densities for small and large cages are 40 and 30 fish per square meter, respectively.

2. Fish cultivation. The purchased carp fry are soaked in a 3% to 4% saline solution for 10 to 15 minutes before being placed into the cages. Bait fish from the breeding pond are fed daily, with their size roughly half the length of the catfish. The amount of bait should be sufficient but not excessive. Regular net sampling is conducted to monitor the feeding condition of the fish and adjust the feeding amount accordingly.

3. Adult fish breeding. By early July, squid-like fish that have grown to about 10 cm are moved to secondary cages. The main feed consists of fish raised in the bait fish ponds, and any shortage is supplemented by purchasing from the Qingtong River and other water sources. The size of the bait fish must not exceed 50% of the length of the catfish, and the ratio of bait fish to the target species is 1:20.

4. Disease prevention. Since these fish only consume live prey throughout their lives, it's essential to combine preventive measures with treatment. During the fingerling stage, the fish are most vulnerable to parasitic diseases. Therefore, every 5 to 7 days, an efficient and low-dose insecticide-sterilizing drug is rotated through the system. For adult fish, a drug-filled bag is used for disinfection every 7 to 10 days, and all bait fish must be immersed in the drug before feeding.

5. Daily management. It's crucial to conduct daily inspections of the cages to check for damage, ensure adequate bait fish supply, and monitor changes in water quality. The cages are cleaned every 10 to 15 days to maintain proper water flow and exchange inside and outside the cage. Consistent monitoring and maintenance help ensure optimal conditions for fish growth and health.

Anti-Diabetes

Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar. Hyperglycemia is due to insulin secretion defects or their biological effects of damage, or both caused. Hyperglycemia in long-term diabetes, leading to various tissues, especially the eyes, kidneys, heart, blood vessels, nerve chronic damage, dysfunction. The etiology of diabetes is roughly one is Genetic factors. Type 1 or type 2 diabetes had significant genetic heterogeneity. There is a family history of diabetes mellitus, 1/4 ~ 1/2 patients with family history of diabetes. Clinically at least 60 kinds of genetic syndromes may be associated with diabetes. Second, Environmental factors, eating too much, reduce physical activity caused by obesity is the most important environmental factors of type 2 diabetes, so that type 2 diabetes genetic susceptibility to individuals prone to disease. There is no cure for diabetes, but through a variety of treatment can control diabetes. Mainly includes five aspects: diabetes education, self-monitoring of blood sugar, diet therapy, exercise therapy and drug treatment. Antidiabetic drugs are needed in the patient after eating and exercise therapy and diabetes health education, blood sugar control can not be achieved when the target treatment. Most antidiabetic drugs have a greater side effect, so the patient must follow the doctor's instructions. With the succession of new antidiabetic drug patents, the patient is not only actually reducing the cost of treatment, but also increased the number of treatment options, Take greater hopes to patients with disease control.
