The environmental pollution caused by the incomplete combustion of diesel has attracted more and more attention. Antifouling and fuel saving technologies such as composite diesel and diesel fuel additives have been rapidly developed and promoted. The most important is the diesel water-emulsification technology, which has the characteristics of high energy-saving efficiency and obvious reduction of tail gas pollution. The micro-explosion effect of emulsified diesel oil makes the oil droplets smaller, expands the contact area with the air, strengthens the combustion process, and reduces the excess air coefficient. The water gas reaction of the combustion process converts the deposited carbon into CO and H2 which are favorable for combustion, and also prevents the deposition and generation of carbon particles, and improves the combustion efficiency. Water can also be used to adjust the hydrogen content of emulsified diesel, reduce the emission of harmful gases such as SOx, NOx, and acid pollution in the atmosphere.


The consumption of diesel in China is about 20 Mt/a. If all the ultrasonic diesel oil-water emulsification technology can be used, savings of approximately 2 Mt/a can be achieved based on the fuel saving rate of 10%. Not only can ease the domestic tightness of diesel, it can also bring in hundreds of millions of dollars of economic benefits, and it can greatly reduce the environmental pollution caused by incomplete combustion of diesel fuel. The results of the study showed that when diesel oil is mixed with 10% to 20% of water and a certain amount of emulsifier (about 0.1% to 2%) is added, the fuel saving rate of emulsified diesel is about 5% to 16%, and the harmful gas is also greatly reduced. Emissions. However, little research has been done on the effects of ultrasonic process parameters on diesel emulsification.
