It is reported that the purpose of compiling the "Guide" is to guide domestic relevant enterprises to win by quality, establish independent innovation strategies and independent brands, promote rapid industrial development, and effectively avoid trade protection barriers.

According to the reporter’s understanding, the Ministry of Commerce plans to issue a number of technical guides to solve the export problems facing Chinese pharmaceutical companies. The "Guide" is the first time that the Ministry of Commerce has issued export quality and technical standards. In the future, a series of export quality guidelines will be issued.

Low quality subsidy exports

So far, Argentina has still not ended the anti-dumping investigation. In addition, Brazil and Ukraine, the major exporters of disposable syringes in China, also carried out anti-dumping investigations against China.

According to industry insiders, China's disposable syringes have a huge price advantage in the international market. Importing countries, in order to protect their own companies and ensure trade balance, will take measures against China's disposable syringes that meet the requirements of anti-dumping duties.

In addition to low prices, the quality of export products is also one of the key issues. According to the reporter's understanding, China's disposable syringe products are not completely backward in the quality system. According to the reporter, we learned from the "Guide" that in some quality standards, domestic standards are even stricter than those in foreign countries. For example, disposable sterile needles are used. Domestic implementation is the GB15811-2001 standard. Compared with international standards, China has also increased. The requirements of the sharpness of the needle tip, the biological performance, and the basic evaluation of biology have also increased the inspection rules.

According to experts who participated in the development of the "Guide," the disparity of disposable syringes in China is mainly manifested in sterility. Compared with foreign countries, China is mainly used for the sterilization effectiveness of all-plastic packaging for ethylene oxide sterilization. The single-layer film used for aseptic medical device packaging is inconsistent with the requirements of European Union standard EN868-5; except for civilian use. In addition, it is important that the packaging has a sterile opening function, especially in the United States where the function of aseptic opening is important.

According to reports, disposable syringes are sold in pharmacies in the United States. China's use of plastic bags, dialysis paper strips, and window bags all do not meet the conditions for sales in pharmacies. Once exports violate the FDA regulations, they will face returns. Danger.

New technology or breakthrough

For domestic enterprises, it is very important to provide quality standards. For example, the radiation sterilization method is widely used and works well. The investment of 4 million US dollars, such a large-scale, is unbearable for most medical device manufacturers in China that produce disposable syringes. It can be seen that the quality system problem will be a long-term challenge for domestic companies.

The "Guide" pointed out that in the international market, the products exported by China are mostly low-tech traditional syringes, which will have a significant restrictive effect on the development of the entire industry. For a disposable syringe to break the existing pattern of large quantities and low returns, its way out is to increase input and develop high-end disposable syringes that are desperately needed in domestic and foreign markets. Otherwise, with the rapid rise of related products and processing industries in emerging Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, the export of disposable medical syringes and other low-grade medical plastic products will pose a threat.

The "Guide" suggests that Chinese disposable syringe companies may consider developing new types of syringes with huge potential. Among them, self-destructive syringes, safety syringes, pre-filled syringes, and needleless syringes may become the future direction for Chinese companies. .

Under the background of rising global demand for pre-filled syringes, the commitment to developing such products is beneficial to the market space for the development of disposable syringes in China.

According to the "Guide", needleless syringes will become mainstream products in the 21st century international syringe market. By 2010, the global market for needleless syringes will reach $3 billion in total sales.

The Ministry of Commerce recommends that these new products have a vast market and huge profits and will certainly replace traditional disposable syringes. Therefore, independent research and development of new products has become the top priority for the development of disposable syringe products in China.
