Three clever application of pesticide technology in rainy season

In selecting the right pesticides, it's essential to consider their absorption and effectiveness under rainy conditions. On one hand, systemic pesticides such as monocrotophos, methamidophos, phosphorothioic acid, insecticidal flea, leaf dry fungus, carbendazim, diureticum, thiophanate, triadimefon, tricyclazole, fluconazole, and others are highly recommended. These products are quickly absorbed through plant stems and leaves, distributing effectively throughout the plant and maintaining efficacy even after rainfall. For example, studies show that Ye Lingling can produce a systemic effect within two hours of application, while phosphamidans enter the plant rapidly, with about 50% of the dose absorbed within an hour. Tricyclazole also demonstrates good performance, with no significant reduction in effectiveness observed even after an hour of spraying. On the other hand, non-systemic but fast-acting pesticides like anti-inhibitory agents, speed-killing compounds, mixed dioxin, methomyl, kwongwei, neovicarb, cotton boll, de-lingling, Xinguang No. 1, and pyrethroids are suitable for use during rainy seasons. These have strong knockdown effects, allowing them to control pests and diseases quickly, thus minimizing the risk of wash-off due to rain. In fact, aphids can be eliminated within minutes after application, according to field reports. When applying pesticides during the rainy season, it’s important to spray when there is no rain expected. If rain occurs within 24 hours after application, it is advisable to reapply the pesticide at a slightly reduced concentration to maintain effectiveness without overuse. Another key technique is mixing the pesticide with adjuvants to improve its adhesion to plant surfaces. Commonly used adjuvants include soybean powder, polyvinyl alcohol, and leather glue. These additives help the pesticide stick better to leaves and stems, enhancing its overall performance and prolonging its activity on the crop. By carefully selecting and applying pesticides, farmers can ensure optimal protection for their crops, even in challenging weather conditions. This approach not only improves pest and disease control but also promotes more sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.
