Artificial breeding of soil worms

The earthworm worm is very strong, so long as it does not expose outdoors, there is no wind and rain, no direct sunlight, and earthworms can survive. Loose soil, dark and moist environment, can make soil worms grow well, and the artificial breeding of soil maggots can be varied. Here are some of the major forms of farming:

1, pot raising

Optional plastic basin with smooth inner wall, height above 15cm, diameter over 45cm, built-in raising soil can be directly cultured. Eggs can also be hatched, and hatched larvae can be bred by size. Pot culture is suitable for small scale farming, with less investment, convenient operation and flexible movement. The disadvantage is that the temperature and humidity are difficult to control, and the output benefits are low.

2. Cylinder raising

Cylinder raising is generally applicable to unheated or slightly warmed aquaculture forms. The tile basins and cylinder basins with smooth inner walls are used. The height is not more than 1 meter. It is half or partially buried underground. The feeding soil can be placed 40-50 cm thick. Seasonal temperatures can be slightly warmed at 0-20 degrees to shorten the dormancy period of the soil borers. The advantage is that the underground temperature and humidity balance is stable, the soil spurs grow well, the service life is long, and the output quality is good. The disadvantages are long periods, low yield per unit area, and vulnerability to rodents.

3, pool raising

The flat pool is the predecessor of the three-dimensional greenhouse pool. Build a square 40-45 cm high pool on the concrete floor with bricks. Leave the aisle 1 meter away. Tile the pool on both sides or build the pool on the inside. Lay the planks and walk around. The upper edge of the inner wall is painted with a 6-8 cm wide glass strip on the upper edge of the inner wall (no glass strip can be replaced with a thick film) to prevent the soil from running over. It can be warmed and cultured. Doors and windows and surrounding walls should be well sealed to prevent rodent and ant damage. The advantages are: good growth of insects, convenient management, and low investment. The disadvantages are long cycle times and low utilization per unit area.

4, three-dimensional pool

We advocate a more advanced three-dimensional greenhouse cultivation model. Its advantages are one-time investment, benefit for many years, fast output, and high efficiency. However, the investment is large, and the construction of a 100-square-meter three-dimensional rearing pond requires a capital of about 5,000 yuan. Farmers should determine the form of farming according to their own conditions.

In the process of artificial breeding of earthworms, warming culture can shorten the growth cycle of earthworms by two-thirds. Although warming raises some of the cost of farming, it is insignificant compared to the benefits it generates. The three-dimensional pond raising requires more warming. Because the three-dimensional cultured earthworms are not deeply buried in the soil, the cold winter months and earthworms cannot survive the cold in the sky and die. The specific requirements and practices of the three-dimensional pooling are:
First, housing. The building of a breeding pond should not leak rain, and the surrounding walls should be well-preserved, with flat tops and spires. If the terrain is low, the ditch can be drained outside the house. Housing height is generally 2.6 meters above the width of 3.6 meters, the length of 8 - 12 meters is better. The original windows and doors were not in the middle of the aisle and they should be managed in the middle. The width should not exceed 1 meter. The window height should not exceed 1.5 meters. The door should not exceed 2 meters in height.
Second, the wall. Mud bricks, red bricks, and cement brick walls can all be used, but they should be painted with cement mortar on one side. After leaving the doors and windows at the two ends of the house, two brick walls are erected with a wall gap of 5 to 10 centimeters. When laying the walls of the barrier, the bricks are placed against the original old wall at intervals, to prevent the partition from collapsing. There are also only one partition wall, and perlite is placed in the empty layer. Under such conditions, the earthworm locusts are warm in winter and cool in summer, and their perennial status is in the basement, which ensures the normal growth of earthworms throughout the year.
Third, the pool body. After laying the walls of the partition, leave the walkway 1 meter according to the remaining area in the house. Design the size of the rearing tank plate (the size of the tank plate should not be too large, generally about 1 square meter), and the thickness of the rearing tank plate should be 3 to 3.5 cm. After setting the size, use reinforced concrete to cast and use 4 mm steel bars. After the slabs are cast and well maintained, the solid pool can be built. 3 vertical bricks (about 40 centimeters and 0 meters in height) on each floor. After a layer of masonry is built, the internal walls are painted, and another layer of the pool plate is built. 6-7 layers can be built, with the top capped and the gap between the pit roof and the roof. Spread grass or other insulation. A 19-20 cm operation window is left on the pit walkway. The operating window is glued to a hard plastic sheet that protrudes approximately 4 cm from the pit pool last week to prevent the soil worms from running over (note that the glass strips cannot be used here, and the glass strips will scratch the arm during operation). After the pit room is built, the surrounding area shall be painted and covered with cracks to prevent rat ants from entering.
Fourth, heating facilities. In the breeding room with bricks 1 - 2 fire dragons. It is appropriate to warm up with briquette or raw coal. The ground fire dragon is set on the plane, and the heat source rises slowly from the bottom upwards. Even if the furnace is extinguished for several hours, there is still waste heat on the ground fire dragon. The burner can be set outdoors or indoors. Covers should be placed on the indoor stove to prevent gas leaks. The exhaust gas after combustion is discharged outside.

There are also many ways to warm up and should be adapted to local conditions. The following introduces several commonly used heating methods.

1, is the electric heating method: the use of electric furnace or heater heating more convenient and easy to operate. The heater is preferably humidified, and the electric stove can be heated to increase the air humidity. Electricity is pollution-free, but the cost is high. Attention should be paid to the safety of electricity usage. Generally, the winter hatching egg temperature is not enough.

2, is the coal furnace heating method: the use of ordinary coal furnace installation pipe heat, while the exhaust emissions to the outside. The heat dissipation of the exhaust pipe is relatively high. When the heating is performed, the temperature may fluctuate, and the pipeline may be easily damaged. The exhaust gas leakage caused by the damage may cause gas poisoning of the operator. In the days when the doors and windows are closed in winter, the oxygen that the coal stove burns should also try to supplement it. This method is small in investment, convenient and flexible, and benefits in experience. It is used by some family farmers.

3, is the ground fire heating method: In the breeding room with bricks have 1-2 fire dragons. It is appropriate to warm up with briquette or raw coal. The ground fire dragon is set on the ground level, and the heat source slowly rises from the bottom up. Even if the furnace is extinguished for hours, the dragon still has excess heat. The furnace can be set outdoors or indoors. Covers should be placed on the furnace in the room to prevent gas leaks.

4, is steam pipe heating method: conditional large-scale farms can use the boiler to burn steam piped into the pit room to warm up. One-time investment is large and used for many years. Boilers burn hot water to brew feed, hot worms, etc. The addition of a switch in the pit room will increase the humidity of the pit house. Its investment is large and small farmers cannot use it.

There are many ways to warm up and should be adapted to local conditions. The only purpose is to increase the temperature of the ponds in the winter months, shorten the growth cycle of the earthworms, and increase economic efficiency.
