Create furrows for sowing with a row spacing of 20 cm. After the seedlings emerge, thin them out twice. When they have 4 to 5 true leaves, perform the final thinning, keeping a spacing of 15 to 20 cm between plants. Use 0.5 to 0.8 kg of seeds per mu.

The second method is raising seedlings. Choose loose and fertile soil for the seedbed. Apply 1.5 to 2.0 tons of organic fertilizer per acre as base fertilizer, and use 1.5 to 2.0 kg of seeds per mu. This amount can provide seedlings for transplanting over 5 to 8 acres. Water the seeds after sowing or gently press the soil with your feet. Thin the seedlings when they have 2 or 3 leaves.

Fertilizer management is crucial before harvest. Apply urea as a top dressing 1 to 2 times, using 5 to 10 kg of urea per mu each time. Stop applying fertilizers 10 days before harvesting. Watering should be done in conjunction with fertilization. Water immediately after planting to ensure good establishment.

Pest control is essential for healthy growth. Aphids can be controlled by spraying 40% Dimethoate EC diluted at 1000 to 2000 times or 5% Malathion. For better protection, consider using insect nets with a mesh size of 25 or larger for full coverage.

Harvesting can begin when the seedlings have 4 to 5 leaves, or when the plants are fully grown. Timely harvesting ensures optimal quality and yield. Whether you choose direct sowing or seedling transplanting, following these steps will help you grow healthy and productive crops.
