Livestock Husbandry I. Mechanism of Action
(1) Mechanism for Increasing Feed Utilization and Promoting Yield Increase: Research has shown that using EM bacteria-fermented feed (such as grass) can effectively acidify the feed. For example, corn straw after fermentation reaches a nutritional level similar to silage. After fermentation with chicken or pig manure, due to concentration and biodegradation, the content of effective amino acids increases by 8% to 26%, along with higher levels of B vitamins. The functions of intestinal protease and maltase are also enhanced, which improves nutrient absorption and conversion, leading to increased production and reduced feed costs.
(B) Improve Immune Function and Disease Prevention Mechanism: EM bacteria help stimulate the growth and development of immune organs in animals. They promote the proliferation of T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, and macrophages, thereby enhancing the overall immune system of the animal.
(C) Environmental Improvement Mechanism: To produce high-quality compost, you can mix 600–700 kg of livestock manure, 200–300 kg of straw, 50 kg of bran, 1–2 kg of compost starter culture, 1–2 kg of brown sugar, and an appropriate amount of water (the moisture should be such that when you squeeze the mixture in your hand, it holds together but doesn't drip). This makes up about 40% of the total material volume. Once mixed, the material is piled on a flat area, compacted as much as possible, and covered with plastic sheeting or soil. The ideal fermentation temperature is between 25°C and 35°C. Fermentation takes approximately 7 days in summer and 15 days in winter. If the temperature during fermentation exceeds 50°C, the pile should be turned over. The process may be repeated two times for optimal results.
3. Application: Use this compost as base fertilizer by either turning it into the soil or burying it in trenches. Apply 200–300 kg per mu (depending on the type of vegetable being grown).
