There are three types of common nematode diseases on flowers:
1. Root-knot nematodes, expressed as flower roots forming small tumor-like worms (root knots), endanger peony, peony, Begonia, rose, impatiens, cyclamen, etc., worms invade plant roots; Nematodes, leaves showed polygonal necrotic spots, malformation, dwarfing the whole plant, damaging chrysanthemums, dahlias, chrysanthemums, etc., parasites invaded leaves and buds; 3. Stem nematode, showing deformation of leaves, dwarfing flowers, and even unable to flower . Harmful tulips, hyacinths, gladiolus, narcissus, etc., parasites invading bulbs and tubers.
The law of incidence
In different regions and different flowers, nematodes differ in generation by generation. Generally several generations to more than 10 generations. Eggs, larvae, and adults overwinter in diseased plants and soil. The insects spread by rainwater, irrigation, tools, soil, flower seedlings, bulbs, etc. After the soil temperature has risen in the spring of the following year, the eggs hatch, and the larvae invade from the stomata, lenticels, and wounds. Soil temperature of 15 to 30 °C is conducive to the development and infestation of root-knot nematodes and stem nematodes. Under suitable conditions, one generation can be completed within 20 to 30 days. Sandy soils are generally severely affected. Some nematodes can also spread the virus.
Comprehensive management measures
1. Strengthen the quarantine prohibition of transporting seedlings and bulbs carrying nematodes.
2. Eradicate pathogens and remove diseased plants, sick bodies, diseased soils, and do not replant.
3. Cultivate disease-free seedlings by using apical bud propagation and tissue culture methods to breed wireless insect seedlings.
4. High-temperature treatment of high-temperature summer weather, the soil paved into 10 cm thick, sun exposure for 30 days, 3 days flip 1; pay attention to rain. Do not use wireworm soil to cultivate seedlings.
5. Chemical control: Use 10% grams of phosphoric acid granules per hectare for 37.5 kg, and bury the medicine by means of furrows or holes, and then cover the soil and water. Potted flowers, buried in the right amount of soil, generally medium-sized pots buried 1 to 2 grams.
