If the sow uses 1100 kilograms per year, it will provide 20 heads with 55 kilograms per head; if slaughter 18 heads, each head should be allocated 61 kilograms; if one head of multi-purpose feed is used, 3 kilograms, the cost will increase by 6 yuan, together with other expenses such as labor , drug costs, equipment depreciation, and so on, the cost will be higher.

Poor management of sows can result in weak, sick, and bordering pigs, as well as increased breeding workload, increased labor costs, increased treatment costs, reduced feed utilization, and increased management costs. These increases in costs are Invisible.

It is regrettable that China’s overall level in this area is still relatively poor, and there is still a gap with the number of developed countries, and the pig farms are also uneven. According to statistics, the international advanced level is about 25, while the average level in China is more than 14. Individual pig farms do not even have 10 heads.

From a reproductive perspective, a sow can ovulate more than 20 times at a time, but in fact, a sow can only provide about 7 pigs for slaughter, that is, only one third of the eggs become the final product – Hog. So where did the eggs go? Experiments showed that from the egg to the formation of obstructed pigs, the greatest loss was from breeding to the farrowing stage, accounting for 84% of the total number of deaths, followed by the lactation stage, which accounted for 12% of the total number of deaths. The longest growing period of the conservation and fattening stage only accounted for 4% of the total.

More pigs were out of stock because the pigs were not properly managed and did not produce enough live piglets. On the other hand, the survival rate of piglets is low. The low survival rate of piglets is another major problem in China's pig industry.

Therefore, pigs and piglets are the focus of the farm. Grasping two ends can control the overall situation and grasp the main contradiction to better solve the problem. The attention to sows and piglets will be greatly rewarded.
