Plastic film garlic turn green tube

As the weather warms up and the garlic clove's outer layer turns green, it's a sign that the seedlings are beginning to emerge. Once they turn green, the lower part of the plant starts developing adventitious roots, which helps in storing nutrients for the formation of garlic scapes and bulbs. This stage is crucial for achieving high-quality and high-yield garlic. Proper management during this time is essential, and here are some key practices: First, after winter watering, dust or silt may settle on the mulch film, reducing light penetration. It’s important to clean this off promptly to improve light exposure and increase soil temperature, promoting better growth. Second, check the mulch regularly for any tears or damage caused by wind or animals. Repair these areas immediately to ensure the garlic sprouts grow uniformly and remain protected under the film. Third, if you're planting garlic continuously, the soil might become deficient in trace elements like magnesium, boron, zinc, and iron. This can lead to weak, stunted plants. To address this, apply a foliar fertilizer such as "Yue Le" Mg-B-Zn-Fe solution 2–3 times after the garlic greens up. Fourth, when the daily average temperature stabilizes between 10°C and 15°C, it's time to water the plants. Apply 8–10 kg of pure nitrogen, 2 kg of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, or 30 kg of a high-nitrogen compound fertilizer to support healthy growth. Fifth, disease and pest control are critical. Common garlic diseases include soft rot, leaf blight, and rust. For early prevention and treatment, use appropriate fungicides. Soft rot can be controlled with 72% agricultural streptomycin at 4000 times dilution or 77% mancozeb at 600 times. Leaf blight can be managed with 75% chlorothalonil at 800 times or 64% ribavirin at 500 times. Rust can be treated with 15% triadimefon at 1000 times dilution, applied 2–3 times. Additionally, during the second irrigation, you can add 48% chlorpyrifos at 500 g per mu or BT emulsion at 2–3 kg per mu to help manage pests effectively. By following these steps, you can ensure your garlic crop thrives and reaches its full potential.
