**Abstract:**
The "Delselaket" strawberry variety is known for its vigorous growth, strong disease resistance, excellent fruit quality, and high yield. It is well-suited for cultivation in northern regions, under arch sheds, semi-conducted greenhouses, and even in southern areas. This variety has become a promising alternative to traditional cultivars like All-Star. The market demand for fresh strawberries and processed products is high, but ensuring the quality of this variety depends largely on non-toxic seedling cultivation.
**1. Introduction of the Delselaket Variety**
Delselaket is a premium European strawberry variety developed by the French Dapeng Seedling Company in 1995. In 1997, the Baoding Strawberry Research Institute introduced it for experimental cultivation in China. In collaboration with Dapeng, they established the Baoding TEDA Agriculture Company and began large-scale non-toxic seedling production. From 1999 onward, the variety was officially promoted and widely used in commercial farming. By 2004, the cultivation area had exceeded 30,000 mu, covering Qingyuan, Tangxian, and Zhengding counties. The variety also achieved a breakthrough by exporting two batches of seedlings to South Korea, marking the first export of strawberry seedlings from Hebei Province. In 1999, a joint venture agreement with Dapeng accelerated the modernization and industrialization of strawberry cultivation in China.
**2. Study on the Biological and Cultivation Characteristics of Delselaket**
**2.1 Materials and Methods**
- **Test Varieties:** Delselaket (first-generation seedlings from French origin), Tutra, Catuno (original seedlings introduced alongside), Allstar, and Fengxiang (common local varieties).
- **Seedling Standards:** Stems over 0.6 cm in diameter, with more than 10 roots.
- **Test Sites:** Baoding TEDA Agricultural Corporation’s Yuzhuang Experimental Base, with follow-up studies in Qingyuan, Tangxian, Zhengding, and Guangdong.
- **Cultivation Types:** Open fields (with winter plastic cover), arch sheds, and greenhouses. Each setup was repeated three times over two years, with planting done in late August.
**2.2 Results and Analysis**
(Tables 1–5 are referenced, showing data on yield, fruit size, and growth performance across different planting densities.)
**2.2.1 Growth Habits of Delselaket**
The variety features thick, vigorous seedlings, an upright growth habit, and large, dark green leaves. Its root system is well-developed, and the fruits are long conical, bright red, and firm. The flavor is rich, with a balanced sweetness and acidity, and a solids content of 8–12%, sometimes reaching 16%. Compared to All-Star, it has 3–6% higher solids. The fruit is ideal for both fresh consumption and processing due to its consistent color and texture.
Yield ranges from 300–500g per plant, with an average of 2000–4000kg per mu. Fruits are uniform in size, with the first harvest averaging 25g per fruit, and large fruits maintained through the later stages, making them highly marketable.
It is a medium-early maturing variety, ripening one week earlier in open fields and 10–15 days earlier in greenhouses compared to All-Star. Its shorter dormancy period and stronger fragrance make it suitable for various environments, including southern regions.
The variety shows good adaptability and resistance to diseases such as gray mold, powdery mildew, and leaf spot. However, after three years of self-propagation, the seedlings may show reduced vigor, lower yield, and susceptibility to pests.
**2.2.2 Cultivation Recommendations**
To maximize yield and maintain quality, the following practices are recommended:
1. Promote Delselaket as a replacement for All-Star in northern open fields, arch sheds, and greenhouses. Expand cultivation to meet growing market demands.
2. Use non-toxic seedlings to ensure healthy growth, disease resistance, and high-quality fruit. This is critical for pollution-free production and long-term sustainability.
3. Introduce original seedlings early in spring, separate nursery and field areas to reduce costs and promote non-toxic cultivation. Avoid transplanting during hot periods.
4. Optimal planting density: 5000–6500 plants per mu in open fields and arch sheds; 7000–10000 in greenhouses. Apply organic manure and limit nitrogen fertilizer use.
5. In greenhouses, avoid early covering and delay planting until late November to mid-December. Harvest should begin in early March to ensure optimal sugar content and fruit quality.
6. Apply magnesium sulfate (0.2%) 2–3 times before and after fruit coloring to prevent discoloration.
7. Successful trials in southern regions like Guangdong, Guizhou, and Sichuan have shown that non-toxic seedlings and proper cultivation are key to success. The variety performs exceptionally well in the south, with high-quality fruits recognized by major supermarkets in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
This variety is a valuable addition to both northern and southern strawberry cultivation, offering high yield, superior quality, and strong market potential.
Joint Replacements
Joint replacement is a medical treatment in which an artificial joint is used to replace a painful joint that has lost function. Our joint replacements are divided into Hip Artificial Prosthesis and Total Knee Artificial Prosthesis System.
The artificial femoral stems are also available in a plain type (which requires cement) and a coral type without cement. Indications for joint replacement include osteonecrosis, irreducible comminted fractures and dislocations, osteoarthropathy with pain and mobility disorders, rheumatoid arthritis with rigidity or difficulty in mobility, and bone tumors. Complications of replacement include loosening of the prosthesis, wear or fracture, deep infection, foreign body reaction, and soft tissue calcification that impedes movement.
