Accurate Quantitative Rice Cultivation Technology is a research team led by Professor Ling Qihong, a renowned rice cultivation expert in China. Based on the rice leaf age model and population quality cultivation theory, this technology has been adapted to meet modern rice cultivation trends. In recent years, it has been widely tested and promoted across provinces such as Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hubei, Anhui, Yunnan, Guizhou, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang, achieving promising results.
Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture's Crop Management Department and the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center jointly held the National Accurate Quantitative Rice Cultivation Technology Promotion Ceremony in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. At the event, Xie Jianhua, Deputy Director of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, emphasized that provinces focusing on high-yield rice should prioritize accurate rice cultivation techniques as their main strategy. He encouraged the selection of key demonstration counties, the establishment of pilot bases, and enhanced technical promotion efforts.
According to reports, the Ministry of Agriculture has formed a steering group for precise quantitative rice cultivation, with Professor Ling Qihong as a consultant and Professor Zhang Hongcheng from Yangzhou University. Technical teams will be set up nationwide to develop implementation plans, conduct training, and provide demonstrations.
At the ceremony, Professor Ling Qihong presented a detailed report on the technology. He explained that since 2005, in various regions including Yunnan, Guizhou, Henan, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Sichuan, Anhui, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang, the technique has consistently outperformed local methods. Under similar variety and fertilization conditions, yields increased by over 10%, benefiting farmers and improving productivity at multiple levels.
High yield, quality, efficiency, ecological sustainability, and safety have become core goals for China’s rice production. Achieving these goals largely depends on accurate quantitative cultivation. This technique not only improves resource use and economic returns but also optimizes input management. For instance, in Jiangsu, precise nitrogen application reduced fertilizer use while increasing yield significantly.
In addition, high-quality rice production relies on quantified techniques. Factors like sowing date, water management, and fertilizer application directly influence rice quality, including grain appearance, texture, and nutritional content. Standardized, data-driven practices are essential for producing consistent, high-quality rice.
Efficiency is another key benefit. By precisely determining planting dates, seeding rates, and fertilizer applications based on soil and environmental conditions, farmers can optimize every step of the process. This leads to cost savings, labor reduction, and improved productivity.
Safe rice production is also ensured through accurate quantification. Proper timing and dosage of inputs prevent crop damage and keep harmful substances within safe limits, ensuring food safety.
Lastly, ecological agriculture benefits greatly from this approach. By balancing nutrient inputs and reducing chemical overuse, the technique supports sustainable farming and environmental protection. It promotes a harmonious relationship between rice production and the natural ecosystem.
Overall, accurate quantitative rice cultivation is not just a technological advancement—it is a comprehensive solution for modern, sustainable, and efficient rice farming in China.
